My Apple Crisp
My Apple Crisp
1 C old fashioned oats
3/4 C brown sugar
1/2 C melted butter
6 C sliced, peeled apples
3/4 C sugar
Directions:
Melt butter. Combine butter, flour, brown sugar & oats in a bowl until moist. Pat 1/2 of the oat mixture in the bottom of a greased 9x9 pan.
Combine apples & sugar (I have this mixture bagged & frozen from the fall when it's apple season). Spread apple mixture on top of pan.
Crumble remainder of oat mixture on top of the apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool until warm. Serve.
You can drizzle icing mixture of powdered sugar & milk/water (made to your desired consistency). Or use some carmel to drizzle over the top (I like to use the carmel dip I save from McD's when my daughter gets the apple dippers & she just eats the apples.)
1 Comments:
When I make Rhubarb Crisp I use:
4-5 C rhubarb (instead of apples)
1 package of strawberry jello & 1/2 C sugar (in place of the 3/4 C suagr)...everything else as far as ingredients cooking is the same.
